What to look for when you outsource Kajabi work

So, you've decided to hire a professional to take care of your Kajabi needs - yay! Outsourcing is a big step, so this is exciting!

But now you may be feeling a little antsy about choosing someone. How do you know that they really know their stuff? How can you prevent getting scammed or swindled? Let's break down exactly what you should look for (and avoid!) when choosing your next Kajabi designer.

1.) They should have a portfolio. If they don't have a portfolio, or any references/samples, this is a red flag. Now obviously, everyone has to start somewhere, so they may never have had any actual paying clients before, but they should still have a portfolio of sample pages that they've created to showcase their work. If they can't show you anything, look for someone else.

2.) Their own website should look GOOD. If their website looks like it was built in the 90s, or, even worse, they don't have a website at all, this is a major sign that they don't know what they're doing. The one exception is if you're looking for a Kajabi expert to help you with only the technical stuff. Some people specialize in the back-end, and don't boast their design skills, in which case you can largely disregard how their website looks aesthetically.

3.) They should have reasonable rates. This is a tricky one because, well, what exactly is a "reasonable" rate? It varies a ton but, having been in this industry for a while, here's my take. If someone is offering custom built sales pages for less than $250, websites for less than $500, or courses for less than $50-100, be very careful. This does NOT mean that the designer is necessarily illegitimate because people may offer lower rates for a variety of totally valid reasons (don't need the money, low cost of living, etc), but if you see prices in this range, be extra vigilant when scoping out their testimonials, references, and portfolio before proceeding.

4.) They should have testimonials. Like I said up above, everyone has to start somewhere, so lack of testimonials is not necessarily a deal-breaker, but it's something to be careful with. Even if a designer hasn't had any paying clients yet, most will offer free or significantly reduced services to friends, colleagues, or acquaintances just to get those first couple of testimonials, so if someone really doesn't have any at all, be wary. No testimonials AND no portfolio? Look elsewhere.
